1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using TextCorrect ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
2. Description of Service
TextCorrect is a desktop application that provides AI-powered text correction services. The Service allows users to correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style in text fields across their system using a hotkey. The Service also includes our website for account management, subscriptions, billing, and downloads.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use TextCorrect, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and creating a password, or by signing in with Google or Facebook. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any access to your account via linked third-party sign-in.
3.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account page (Danger Zone). Deletion is processed as described in our Privacy Policy (including anonymization and retention of certain data for legal and accounting purposes). We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason we deem necessary.
4. Pricing and Access
TextCorrect offers a free tier with limited usage, and a paid monthly subscription that provides substantially higher usage for personal text correction. The paid subscription is subject to a fair use policy: it is not completely without limits, and we may restrict or suspend use that we reasonably consider excessive, abusive, or inconsistent with normal personal use. Current pricing, plan details, and fair use guidelines are described on our Pricing page. Subscription payments are processed via Stripe; by subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms and our billing practices.
We reserve the right to modify or change our pricing and plans in the future. Any such changes will be communicated to users in advance.
We do not offer refunds for subscription payments. If you no longer wish to continue, you may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page; your access will continue until the end of your current billing period and you will not be charged again.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the Service to process content that violates any laws or regulations
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by TextCorrect and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
TextCorrect is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TextCorrect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TextCorrect, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
